With up to 23-inches of ground clearance*, the Off-Road package available on your Timberleaf Teardrop Trailer makes this beautifully crafted retro trailer into an off-road beast, ready to tackle nearly any terrain from mild to wild. Available as an upgrade option for each of our trailer models, the Off-Road package increases the trailers ground clearance by up to 6-1/2-inches over that of the Standard suspension package.
Featuring Timbren’s Heavy Duty Axle-Less independent suspension, the Off-Road package gains a 4-inch lift and 31-inch or 33-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires for rugged reliability over the highway trailer tires on the Standard suspension package. Venture further knowing that not only do you have the clearance, but the rugged high-traction all terrain tires from BFGoodrich. Covering the oversized off-road-ready tires is our custom made aluminum diamond plate Jeep-style fenders with integrated steps. These fenders are heavy-duty and ready for abuse, they are built strong enough to stand on, and double as a useful work surface whether on the trail or in camp cutting up veggies.
When traversing technical off-highway terrain, the traditional ball coupler presents some significant limitations in the trailer’s ability to articulate safely and securely. We exclusively use the Max-Coupler Articulating Hitch to join the trailer to the tow vehicle, which features the most unlimited hitch articulation and extreme angles without binding and no need to worry about breakage when traveling into remote regions.
The Off-Road package comes standard with increased diamond plating protection at the front of the trailer, offering rugged good looks and a more durable surface to resist denting from rocks and mud that may be flung toward the trailer as you travel through rocky dirt roads. Additional front corner protection is offered by our frame-mounted tube steel rock sliders, which serve double duty as an additional stepping point for reaching items stored on your roof rack.
Each of our trailers is built upon an over-built fully-welded steel frame, similarly constructed to 7,000-pound utility trailers. While this adds a little bit of weight over a lighter steel frame, it provides us with a rock-solid foundation upon which to build our trailers. What this means for you is a purpose-built trailer ready for the roughest of roads, reliably constructed for many years to come.
